Festival of Heroes – 27th – 28th July 2019
Location: Brading Roman Villa, Brading, Isle of Wight
Festival of Heroes is a super fun day out for the whole family where you can meet a huge amount of your favourite characters from Super Heroes – Princess – Storybook Characters.
New for 2019 our all new Dinosaur Area run by the Dino4hire team with many dinosaurs to meet including 13ft of T Rex named Little Al.
The Arena runs all weekend with some fab shows to include Team Kinetix performing some Super Hero Parkour .
The Transformer area will include Bumble Bee and Barricade cars and also Optimus Prime in Robot form.
Alongside this there are Vintage Amusements, Inflatables, lovely stalls, food stalls and our fab Kids area with many activities throughout the weekend

Superhero Day – 27th April 2019
Location: Cineworld, Newport, Isle of Wight
In celebration of Avengers Endgame we here at Cineworld IOW are very excited to announce that we are hosting our very own superhero day on 27th April 12-4pm! We will be joined by a pantheon of wonderful guests for the afternoon! It is a free event, but there will be lots of goodies available to purchase on the day.

Wolverton Manor Garden Fair
Location: Near Shorwell, Isle of Wight
Wolverton Manor Garden Fair is set in the beautiful grounds of Wolverton Manor, near Shorwell, and features over 120 Island and mainland exhibitors representing a wide range of gardening and country arts and crafts.
Visiting nurseries sit alongside the wonderful Island nurseries with all the traditional delights of a genuine Garden Fair including entertainment to suit all ages. There’s even Elizabethan Dancing performed by Elizabethan re-enactors.
Attracting circa 7,000 visitors, the fair is the most popular garden event on the Island but there’s also a big emphasis on wildlife with a conservation tent showing bats and red squirrels, poultry from the Poultry Club and a variety of animals from alpacas, falcons and dogs.

ISLAND CON
Location: Cowes Enterprise College, Isle of Wight
The UK’s only destination comic con and the country’s fastest growing pop culture convention returns on October 20-21, 2018, bigger, badder and better!
Hollywood stars and industry creatives will be taking over Cowes in what is projected to be the second largest annual event on the Island in 2018 behind the IOW Festival.
Already confirmed to appear is one half of Jay & Silent Bob, Jason Mewes, alongside fellow ‘View Askew’ and Kevin Smith alumni Brian O’Halloran, Ming Chen, Brian Johnson & Mike Zapcic.
The event also plays host to more EU-wide exclusive reunions with five cast members of the American Pie films including Hollywood stars Tara Reid & Mena Suvari alongside Shannon Elizabeth, Thomas Ian Nicholas & Chris Owen.
There’s also a very special appearance by Hollywood legend Sean Astin who appears alongside fellow ‘The Goonies’ cast members, Joseph Pantoliano and Ke Huy Quan.
Also recently announced is pro-skateboarding legend and Jackass star Bam Margera in another EU-wide exclusive for 2018.
All of this before we even get to mentioning special exclusive UK appearances by Bai Ling, Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa, Samantha Mathis and Connor Trinneer among many others!
But it’s not all about getting to meet Hollywood legends and childhood heroes, there is so much more to do and see at the festival-feel convention that you’ll need a whole day just to make the most of the experience.
There are special fan and prop zones complete with attractions including Star Wars, Doctor Who, gaming areas, a large dino zone with dinosaur displays and a fully fledged Kid’s Zone. There is literally something for everyone at Island Con.
Island Con also plays host to a packed program of live stage interviews, Q&As, cosplay contests and panel discussions which are all included in the general entry ticket. There’s food areas, a large exhibition hall, a whole host of independent movie actors and creatives, evening parties, thousands of colourful characters, and not forgetting a full roster of comic book artists and writers!
This is an amazing opportunity to meet Hollywood legends, have photos taken with your heroes and enjoy the festival-style convention to the max. This is simply the coolest pop culture convention in the entire country and it’s right here on the Isle of Wight.
Island Con has already gained worldwide recognition with tickets sold as far afield as South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore and all over Europe. The event welcomes fans from across the world to the Isle of Wight this October 20-21.

Jack Up The 80’s
Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Jack Up The 80s moved in 2017 to a more fit for purpose site better suited to a live music event, with improved infrastructure, hard standing and flood lighting. Situated on the outskirts of Ryde the new venue ensures easier access for the majority of Islanders as well as visitors from the mainland, all-weather facilities and a more enclosed space ensuring a safer environment for families.
The site at Smallbrook Stadium is closer to the Island’s main transport links and shuttle buses will be provided to transport foot passengers from Ryde bus station directly to the venue.

IOW Pride
Location: Ryde
Isle of Wight Pride is proud to be hosting UK Pride 2018 and will be held in Ryde on Saturday 21st July 2018.
In October 2017 Isle of Wight Pride beat the stiff competition at the UK Pride Organisers Network conference to win the right to host UK Pride 2018.
Now, in its second year, the Island’s LGBT community is being recognised, celebrated and supported by the whole community, by hosting UK Pride in its second year. Situated on the stunning golden beaches of Ryde, IW Pride will include a colourful parade through the heart of the Victorian seaside town
There will be a main stage arena on the seafront boasting top Headline acts and entertainment throughout the day.

Godshill Summer Fete
Location: Godshill, Isle of Wight
Godshill is hosting it’s first annual village fete on Saturday 14th July – 11am-5pm. The fete will take place on Godshill Central Mead, directly behind the Old Smithy and accessible via the main road.

Chale Garden Show
Location: Isle of Wight
How to get there:
The Chale showground is located along the South Coast of the Isle of Wight, along the Military Road (A3055).
The show is situated approximately 1 mile West of Blackgang Chine and 1/3 mile west from Chale Church junction with the B3399
